COMPASSION CAPITAL GRANT

 

At the end of April last year the Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Compassion Capital Grant was released.  This means that at anytime now the RFP could be released. Ministries do NOT want to miss out on this opportunity. 

The primary purpose of the CCF is to help faith-based and community organizations increase their effectiveness, enhance their ability to provide social services to serve those most in need, expand their organizations, diversify their funding sources, and create collaborations to better serve those in need. 

The program funds faith-based and community organizations directly with one time $50,000 awards for one year to build their capacity to deliver services to at-risk youth, the homeless, those living in rural communities, or to provide marriage education. All you have to do is be serving ONE of these four areas.  To be eligible an organization must serve individuals in a "distressed community." A distressed community is defined as a neighborhood or geographic community with an unemployment rate and/or poverty rate equal to or greater that the state or national rate.

FOR KIDS ONLY ORGANIZATION

 

The For Kids Only organization, located in California, has a grant program called "Dare to Dream" and are currently requesting for qualified applicants to apply.

The Dare to Dream grant program seeks to fund programs with specific faith-based components geared towards children ages 0 to 12 that further the For Kids Only mission, have specific measurable spiritual and academic outcomes, and serve as a model in their local community. Giving is on a national scale. The next deadline is July 5th.  The grant amounts vary in size with the maximum grant amount awarded at $10,000. The organization gives out approximately 15 grants per cycle.

FAITH BASED CONFERENCE

 

Last month I had the privilege of attending the "White House Office of Faith Based Initiatives National Conference".  The conference featured helpful seminars as well as a keynote speech by President Bush.  The President shared the impact that Faith Based Organizations are having in America and released a report showing the great improvement in the access to federal dollars faith based organizations are experiencing.  This report is available for free on our website at Christiangrants.com.
