“Federal Funding for Faith and Community Based Organizations”

It is very rare that we send out two Grant Alerts in the same month but we feel that the information in this alert is very important and time sensitive.

Before I share you some exciting Grant Alert information I wanted to share with you a recent letter we received from a ministry that ordered our "Directory of Foundations Supporting Christian Organizations."  Here is that letter...

Dear Mr. Boling,

Thank you for publishing the Christian Grant Directory.  The first time I used your directory our ministry was awarded a $5,000 grant from one of the foundations listed in your directory.  This was my second attempt at writing a grant proposal and your directory was very helpful and a time saving resource.  You have done the legwork of researching foundations and trusts, I simply went down the list and found the foundations that had similar interests along the lines of our ministry.

Again, thank you for your help.

In Christ,
Pastor Tom Flaskerud
The Freedom Team Evangelistic Ministry

Pastor Tom and his ministry is just another example of the how helpful the "Directory of Foundations Supporting
Christian Organizations" has become for many ministries.  If you have not ordered your copy yet for your ministry I
strongly encourage you to do so.  You can order your copy and view a sample page from the directory by going to
www.christiangrants.com The directory was just updated in March so now would be the perfect time to get your copy
and get your proposals out before the traditional summer slump of funding hits.  For those who have ordered a copy in
the past I would encourage you to order a new copy at least once a year to stay current on the information.

Now on to some great news!  The Federal Department of Health and Human Services awarded a $2.5 million dollar
grant to the Institute for Youth Development to assist faith and community based organizations in competing for federal
grants.  Through this grant 20 regional workshops per year for three years are being offered to provide information on
grant opportunities, technical assistance in the preparation of grant applications, and will conduct a federal style
sub-grants competition for participants.  Participants of the workshops will be able to compete for average grants of
$30,000.  Each year between 55 and 95 grants will be awarded.  Eligibility is limited to faith and community based
organizations that have never been awarded a federal grant.

I would encourage you strongly to visit the Institute for Youth Development website at www.youthdevelopment.org for
a listing of the nearest regional workshop.  If you are looking to branch out into receiving some federal funding and to
get in early on some possible larger dollars coming later through President Bush's faith based initiatives I would
encourage you strongly to attend.  I know I will be at the one on May 1st in Erie, Pennsylvania.
